Dear OneGift,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Florida is all I dreamed it would be. 85 degree days and warm nights, beautiful tropical plants, the wildlife, and the healing sun. The sunsets are so breathtaking, they made me cry. I can't believe I'm here and I owe it all to you. Life is so incredible, so amazing. This is paradise. I'm off to snorkel, swim and parasail. My new motto is try anything once. Life is too short not to. Thank you for making my dream the wonderful reality it is. Do I have to come home?
Forever in your debt,
Ilona
Dear OneGift,
I don't know how to begin to thank you for your generous offer to allow me to attend my sister's wedding. I was to have been a bridesmaid, but being so ill, I just could not do it. And with not working I could not afford the trip and driving was impossible. But you made it possible, and my sister made me an honorary maid of honor—to my surprise! I had a wonderful time. I've been telling everyone about your wonderful organization, and they say its a blessing from God, and you are! Thank you again. You made a beautiful day even better.
Sincerely,
Dinita
Dear OneGift & Jill,
We would all like to thank you for giving us a very special and wonderful trip. Nancy, my sons, and I would never have been able to go back to Vermont and to see Lake George. We all tried to live each day to the fullest. During the 9 days you gave us we did so many things and shared so many thoughts. To have our sons with us was so special and to have Nancy and Tammy with us gave me a chance to see how special they both are. I was in the hospital so long. Being able to be away gave us all a chance to forget for awhile and remember the way it was. Thank you for making our dream come true. Our little white church in Bethel will be in our hearts forever. It was a dream come true to be able to see it again together.
Thank you with all our love.
Dear Jill,
My July trip to the Sweet Grass Ranch located in Big Timber, Montana, was the most exciting vacation I have ever had. The ranch owners and staff were extremely accommodating, the scenery was breathtaking, the horses were athletic with wonderful temperaments, the guests were friendly and warm...the entire experience was incredible. Thank you for starting the ball rolling and for talking me through my last chemo treatment. You were able to put my mind on the upcoming vacation and away from the reality of dealing with cancer. I appreciate the compassion you have shown. Ida handled the many details of my trip with extreme efficiency. Here enthusiasm was contagious and her upbeat personality was a welcome addition to any day. You are very fortunate to have such a devoted volunteer. The quote included in the Sweet Grass brochure sums it up beautifully: "you can see what man made from the seat of an automobile, but the best way to see what God made is from the back of a horse." Many thanks to OneGift and everyone else involved for giving me 1 of the best weeks of my life and allowing me to share it with my long-time riding buddy.
Sincerely,
Lin
Dear Lisa,
This is to say thanks to you. I know OneGift is the foundation, but the grace, calm, and speed with which you serve and help is truly a blessing. I'm not the type to do things "at the drop of a hat" but among many things, something in your voice convinced me it was the thing to do: Gigi, John, and I had a chance to see Dave. We had a great visit. John was very excited to ride on a plane and stayed awake almost the whole flight. He was very happy to see Dave again. The same with Dave. John being only 3 made him very pleasant and interesting to be around. So he understood Dave had a "boo boo" and was not his rough-and-tumble self. But they both enjoyed each other. I had some very nice talks with Dave (that could not have been done over the phone). I enjoyed watching Dave and John interact. We're very thankful to Lucille for starting this whole thing.
With deep thankfulness and kindest thoughts,
John
Dear Diantha,
My surgery took place Halloween morning, a hard occasion to forget. Sometimes I feel I've been to hell and back with this whole situation...but God has given me such wonderful friends—they manage to keep the smile on my face, and the hope in my heart!!! This past Wednesday, 2 of the dearest, sweetest gals came down from Connecticut to join me for our dream in New York City. They have been my friends for 35 years, and it meant much more than you know! They commented at the end of the evening, "I think I died and went to heaven,” so you can see all your efforts were worth it and more—it will be my treasure for the rest of my life! I want to mention Chris...if it weren't for her insistence, it would never have been.
I thank you with all my heart,
Joanne
